OUR MISSION

Cultivate in Faith hopes to guide Catholics to resources suitable to their interests that have been recommended by other Catholics. We hope to help Catholics integrate their faith into their daily lives.

About Us

Cultivate in Faith is an online resource guide that simplifies the search for Catholics who are looking to grow more within their faith. All of the online resources that are listed on this site are resources recommended by other Catholics, who have used them throughout their faith journeys. All of the resources listed on this site have been organized by Lauren Cometa.

About Lauren Cometa
Lauren is a cradle Catholic and has spent 9 years of her early academic life attending a private Catholic school. However, she started seriously practicing her faith after attending a Steubenville Conference the summer before her senior year of high school. Since then, she has become an active member of the Newman Catholic Center in Davis and tries her best (really tries her best) to claim her identity as a daughter of God. Throughout her faith journey, she has used many Catholic resources -- mainly flooding her Instagram feed with Catholic accounts -- to grow more in her relationship with Christ. With this project, she hopes to help other Catholics do the same.

Find a Catholic Community

Listed below are online communities, divided into categories, and resources to find the communities listed. Links are attached to each of the names. Click on a name of a group to be redirected to the website.

Don't forget to reach out to your local parish as well! Whether it is participating in the different ministries that are provided by your local parish, or taking your friendships/acquaintanceship outside of conversing after Mass, having your community of faith is necessary for accountability or a way for more prayers to be offered.

Catholic Apps

Here's a short list of apps that are recommended for all Catholics to start with:

  • Hallow – Catholic Prayer and Meditation App: The app integrates the current trend of guided mindfulness meditation into Catholic prayer. Included are guided meditations sessions for Ignatian Examen, Lectio Divina, Spiritual Writing, the Rosary, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

  • Laudate: A comprehensive guide for Catholics. The app has ALMOST EVERYTHING that a Catholic needs: a vast amount of prayer guides, online versions of the Bible (NABRE Edition) and the Catechism, Vatican Documents, and more!

  • iBreviary: If you are looking for another way to pray, the breviary, also known as the Liturgy of the Hours, is a liturgical book that includes prayers for the divine office, or prayers for certain hours of the day. The app is an easy-to-carry breviary for smart phone or tablet users.

NOTE: It is easy to get caught up with the politics of the Catholic Church.
Remember that Catholicism is made up of imperfect people guided by Jesus.
